The deadline for submissions to the 4th edition of Harambee's International Award, "Communicating Africa", is September 15, 2010. Winners will be announced in Rome on November 12, 2010. Last year's top honors went to "Women for a Better World" by Mayte Pascal, produced by TVE (Spanish public television).

The competition judges TV documentaries (broadcast between January 1, 2009 and  August 31, 2010) and video-clips (submitted by students 25 years and under) that deal with ethnic, religious, social, economic and cultural issues in Africa. The goal of this prize is to reward audiovisual material that reflects a positive vision of Africa, while not eluding actual challenges. Two categories of prizes (documentaries and video-clips) totalling EUR 5,000.00 in each category will be awarded.
